CHILLICOTHE – It’s been full-steam ahead on Mulberry and Second streets as one of the latest initiatives, The Fort Collective project, begins construction of their 8,500 sq ft building. A completion date is anticipated for winter  2019/2020.

The Fort Collective is a faith-based initiative funded under the umbrella of the Daniel Investment Group.  The co-Founders, Steve Moore and Alan Strudwick say that the ultimate goal of the project, is to create a dedicated space for the whole community to enjoy and find connection under one roof. This will include an exciting new eatery, coffee bar, Chillicothe’s first roastery, private offices, a co-working hub and select retail spaces. There will also be access to an indoor play area for mothers with small children, as well as an outdoor seating area and off street parking facilities.

Here’s the first, exclusive look at what to expect under that “one roof” and why the facility is able to house multiple and varied spaces for the community to enjoy without having to venture outside:

The Fort Table

Our new and contemporary eatery called The Fort Table, will include an extended variety of delicious breakfast and lunch options, together with a selection of beautiful cake choices. The interior has been designed to provide a comfortable space where friends and family can meet and enjoy a relaxed meal together.

Outside Patio Area

With the weather warming up, it’s easy to see why the project founders wanted to incorporate some bonus outdoor space for the community to enjoy some sunshine! The area is easily accessed through an internal opening.

8 Private Offices

The Fort Collective will also feature eight private offices tucked quietly on the south side of the building. By application only, you are able to secure an office space at The Fort, and also enjoy free access to the Board Room together with 24/7 key card access.

Co-Working Spaces

As one of the core missions of this project is to embrace community and foster the next generation of leaders, achievers, and entrepreneurs, The Fort will also provide a more casual yet professional area where people can have access to a quiet co- working area. This space will offer both “hot” and designated desk options for lease. Key card access will be from 7am-7pm Monday-Saturday.

Rost Coffee + Roastery

Rost Coffee will also enjoy a new home once the project is complete. This includes a new coffee bar  as well as an on-site roastery and production facility. Visitors to The Fort will have the added bonus of being able to watch the “behind-the-scenes” process of Rost’s ethically-sourced beans being roasted before being served their daily dose of goodness.

The Fort Retail Spaces

Two extensive retail spaces are located under the roof of The Fort Collective. Each retail space measures 650 sq. ft and can be accessed through a street frontage opening as well as a large internal opening. Applications are currently open on the Fort Collective website.

The Fort Wonderland

The Fort Wonderland is a private and safe room for toddlers and under school age children located to one side of The Fort Table area. Here, Mums can relax and enjoy a meal or coffee, while still being able to watch their children playing through a large viewing window.

(Co-founders of The Fort Collective say this space comes with a tongue-in-cheek warning: “Unattended children will be given an espresso and their own kitten!”)

The Daniel Investment Group, through the Fort Collective project, is focused on revitalizing the local area, as well as fostering and strengthening the community spirit of Chillicothe as a whole. The Fort Collective is on track to be a unique hub for the local community to work, shop, eat, sip and play.
